The trip of a lifetime! -
Join
us for a week long wilderness canoe expedition in the BWCA
(Boundary
Waters Canoe Area,) a land that time
forgot! In the
spirit of
the French Voyageurs of 250 years ago we will canoe, portage and camp
under the stars of one of the last true
wilderness areas left in America. And yes, we'll be roughing it, but
just enough so that when it's over you'll feel like you've truly
accomplished something.
Imagine gently slipping through
the water while navigating a
peaceful stream or a placid lake surrounded by pristine
wilderness, the temperature is perfect, the air is fresh and
the water is crystal clear. The only sounds you'll hear all day are
that of mother nature and your trip mates as they ooh and ah
the day away!. (No motorized vehicles are allowed to operate
in or fly over the BWCA except
in cases of an emergency.)
Our expert guide will teach you the basics of backcountry canoe
navigation
and woodsman-ship and you'll learn a few camping tricks and
secrets that will make you smile. After a day spent paddling
and
hiking
you'll welcome a roaring fire and the evening's meal. Once the
sun
sets you'll be astonished by the millions of stars that light
up
the
northern sky and you'll sleep like a baby!
If you like to fish then you're really in luck, you will be in one of
America's prime fishing locations; Walleye, Perch,
Bass, Northern Pike and pan fish abound, due to the remoteness
and
restrictions placed on the BWCA over-fishing is never a problem.
You will definitely experience your fair share of
fresh fried fish on this trip. (But don't worry, you won't have to eat
fish if you prefer not to, we've got you covered!)
This trip is not for everyone, some folks simply require a few
creature comforts that aren't possible on this kind of trip, But if
you're a
hardy sort,
who doesn't mind getting wet and getting a little
dirt your fingernails then please join us, this is truly the
trip of a lifetime and we
can't wait to share it with you!
Optional Activities: Fishing, Hiking, Scenic
Photography, Swimming, Bird
Watching, Rock hounding, Woodlore,
and more.
All food, canoes and specialty
camping equipment will be supplied by Rolling
Roads.
